Adult Day Program: Supported Community Connections


Each person who attends the KAAUM SCC program experiences a wide variety of activities that enhance their personal and social lives. Participants gain knowledge in daily living skills such as cooking and personal hygiene, increase social skills, express themselves through arts and crafts, and have access to a variety of educational and social activities. Our adult day program is designed to meet the unique social, emotional, and educational needs of individual adults with a wide range of disabilities. At the same time, the day program provides a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where adults with disabilities can learn, grow, nurture relationships with their peers, and actively participate in the community around them.

What is Adult Day Program?

 The adult day program is a planned program of activities designed to promote well-being through social and health-related services. KAAUM operates during daytime and nighttime hours, Monday through Friday, in a safe, supportive, cheerful environment.         

What is Supported Community Connection?

 SCC is a program to offer a more contemporary approach with a greater emphasis on community-based activities. Daily outings provide program participants with either recreation or volunteer opportunities. The SCC program is, held throughout the state of Colorado.         

Day Program Motto

 Leveraging community resources and local partnerships supports high-quality opportunities by broadening the experiences that may be, typically offered to People in Service, and by expanding access to local expertise. Better aligning and utilizing these resources can also help KAAUM, access low-cost services or facilities to support learning opportunities. Pulling in local resources such as non-profit agencies, parks, recreation, community-based organizations, and other entities can effectively maximize opportunities for people who are, served.
